This unique experience begins with a guided tour of the lower floor of the central market of San Lorenzo, where the typical Florentine shops of fish, vegetables, fruit and bread are located, allowing participants to select some fresh ingredients that will be used during the cooking class.
After visiting the market, participants will walk through the historic center and arrive at the school where the Chef will guide them in preparing the dishes on the chosen menu. The lesson is completely hands-on, the dishes are prepared from scratch.
We have the following menu options:
- TUSCAN: Tuscan Crostini, Mugello Tortelli (stuffed with potatoes) with Tuscan ragù, Peposo, Cantucci.
- VEGETARIAN: Caponata, Sardinian gnocchi with pesto / or Risotto with seasonal vegetables, Eggplant Parmigiana, Chocolate dessert.
- FISH: Crostini di mare, Tagliatelle with seafood or Octopus ragù, Fish in the island, Lemon sorbet.
- MEDITERRANEAN: Bruschetta and Crostini, Spaghetti pommarola or Mediterranean style, Chicken with citrus fruits, Orange ricotta dessert in hazelnut sauce.
NOTE: Under requests we are able to provide a vegetarian / vegan option, as well as other dietary restrictions (such as lactose intolerant, no pork, no fish, etc.). Please, inform us during the booking.
Included: bottled water, Tuscan red wine IGT (only during the meal tasting) and recipes of the prepared dishes.
Schedule: This lesson takes place from April to November on Wednesday and Saturday at 10:00 am. It lasts about 5 hours (including tour, lesson and tasting).
Language: The lesson can be held in English, Italian and on request in Spanish. The minimum age required is 7 years.
Meeting point: is at 9:45 am in front of the Tabernacle of the Fonticine, in via Nazionale. Please arrive on time for check-in.
